The Mortlach 13 Year Old Special Release 2021 is a robust single malt Scotch whisky, matured in a blend of virgin and refill American oak casks and bottled at cask strength.  It offers aromas of freshly oiled wood, savoury roast meats, redcurrant jelly, and moorland herbs, with a palate that brings out intense vanilla sweetness alongside spicy new oak and hints of chilli pepper. The finish is long and powerful, featuring a warming, peppery glow with lingering fruit and spice, enhanced by a touch of water which reveals a fresh floral-herbal note. 

Begins with a smooth, mellow nose of freshly-oiled wood.
Develops with savory, meaty notes reminiscent of roast pheasant with redcurrant jelly.
Deeper notes of heather, moorland, and crushed herbs emerge.
Adding a drop of water reveals a sweet, fruity hint of lime.
